Like many American stories, mine begins with immigration. I came to the United States in my early teens, after my family left the former Yugoslavia amid the armed conflict that began in 1991. We first found refuge in Germany, where we spent several years rebuilding our lives, but ultimately were unable to obtain permanent residency. The United States offered us a lawful path to enter the country and, in time, the opportunity to make it our permanent home. And so, we uprooted our lives once more. Those experiences gave me an early and deeply personal understanding of how profoundly immigration law can shape the course of a family’s life.

Today, as an immigration attorney, I bring both professional expertise and personal perspective to the clients I serve. I understand the uncertainty many immigrants face, and I am committed to helping individuals, families, and professionals navigate the immigration process with clarity and confidence.

I earned my Juris Doctor from the Phoenix School of Law in 2012 and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Arizona State University, where I graduated cum laude in 2008. I am admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the State of Arizona and the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.

Before establishing my current practice, I gained experience in several areas of law, including family law, bankruptcy, and administrative immigration matters. Today my practice focuses exclusively on immigration law, including employment-based immigration, family-based petitions, and complex immigration matters.

I am a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the State Bar of Arizona. I also proudly participate in community legal service initiatives, including Poder Latinx, the Veterans StandDown Coalition, the State Bar of Arizona’s Law Day programs, Community Legal Services, and ABC 15 Arizona’s “Let Joe Know” Community Outreach.
